Tomas P. Boquiren, a former government legal officer, is now a practicing attorney whose hobbies include creative writing and collecting folk tales in all parts of the Philippines. He has written and published about a dozen books of poetry, short fiction, and essays on national issues and historical controversies. Alongside with his efforts as a literary craftsman and freelance journalist, he has garnered 37 prizes and awards in college and national competitions, including a U.P. Creative Writing Fellowship grant and also a Palanca Award. Three of his books had been printed by prestigious publishing firms, one by Signatures, and two by New Day Publishers. Boquiren is also a painter and a psychic of note. He has conducted classes on Palistry, Tarot, I-Ching, dream interpretation and mind power.
